This is an intriguing thought experiment. I wholeheartedly support America sitting together!
Give our leaders a new seating chart.
The mission of PurpleUp.vote and the United Seating Initiative is to gather enough public votes to give our leaders a new seating chart — one that changes the way Congress currently sits.
We believe that when people sit together, they communicate better, listen more, and work together more effectively. Today, Democrats and Republicans sit on opposite sides of the aisle. We think a simple change — members sitting together, regardless of party — could create a healthier environment for bipartisan leadership.
Maybe this small change, voted on by the people and for the people, will make a real difference. And if it doesn’t? It will still be very funny to watch.
We are nonpartisan and open to every American, regardless of political belief. All we ask for is an email address to verify your vote.
One united nation instead of two opposing sides.
We envision a Congress that represents one united nation instead of two opposing sides.
We believe changing the seating arrangement can encourage respect, conversation, and cooperation among our elected leaders. We might be kidding ourselves — but we might also be surprised.
Our goal is to create a symbol of unity: a reminder that government works best when people work together.
Small changes can create big results.
PurpleUp.vote and the United Seating Initiative exist to promote one simple idea: small changes can create big results. When leaders sit together, America moves closer to working together.
